Having fun in St Kilda with little people.
St Kilda Beach
St Kilda Beach is a great place for families at any time of the day.
I don’t think I need to tell you what to do at the beach ;-).
Pony Rides
Really good fun and at $10 per ride its a great value way to entertain your little ones.
Pony rides happen every Sunday you might be able to see if they are on from the balcony or front window, just look for a pony or two walking around the park.
Penguins
How cute are these guys, seriously!!! Most people don’t know but St Kilda is actually home to a penguin colony, so you don’t need to drive all the way to Philip Island to see these little treasures.
Walk along St Kilda pier, past the restaurant and onto the breakwater. The viewing platform is just there. Dusk is the best time to see penguins.
Luna Park
Luna Park is exactly what you would expect it to be, a historic amusement park. Where it lacks the scale and high tech wow factor of a Gold Coast park Luna Park makes up for it with history and quirkiness.
But you wont ever catch me on the rickety old roller coaster. Best viewed from the safety of the ground if you ask me.
Adventure Playground
The St Kilda Adventure Playground is a uniquely St Kilda playground. Built by volunteers you do not find any imported, mass produced playground equipment here.
There is a trampoline, basketball court, loads of adventure zones and the only half-pipe slide I have ever seen.
St Kilda Sea Baths
If it’s too cold to swim at the beach the St Kilda Sea Baths is your best bet for a local dip.
There is a 25mtr pool, hydrotherapy bath and a steam room. 1/3rd of the pool is roped off as a kids play area so it’s not all swimming laps.
